Design features

Plunger lift is a widely used artificial lift method, ideal for low-volume, high gas-liquid ratio (GLR) wells. This technique harnesses the well's own energy to lift accumulated fluid from the tubing to the surface, effectively utilizing the gas stored in the annulus. The plunger creates a mechanical seal that prevents gas slippage and liquid fallback, ensuring reliable fluid extraction.

Our ULT Plunger Lift System integrates the latest sensor technologies, significantly improving measurement accuracy. Combined with the ULT intelligent controller, which features AI-powered control modes, the system has been field-proven to optimize production, maximize efficiency, and extend the life of your well.

Surface components

Explore our high-performance surface components, designed for safety, durability, and efficiency in plunger lift operations.

Lubricator

The lubricator is the primary surface unit in a plunger lift system. It acts as the landing point for the plunger when it reaches the surface, protecting the system and enabling controlled operations. Key components include a shock spring to absorb high-velocity impacts, a plunger catcher mechanism, and flow ports.

Key Features

  • Customizable designs for specific well conditions
Standard working pressure: 3,000 psi
Hydrotested to 5,000 psi per ASTM standards
  • Includes plunger catcher (auto-catcher available)
  • Sour service configurations available
Sizes
2-3/8", 2-7/8", 3-1/2", 4"
  • Optional corrosion-resistant materials for harsh environments
  • Custom designs available on request
Motor Valve

The motor valve is a critical flow control component in plunger lift systems. Acting as a shutoff valve, it manages gas and liquid flow by opening and closing at precise intervals, coordinated by the system controller. This timing allows the plunger to rise and fall, efficiently clearing liquids from the tubing.

Key Features

Operates remotely via pneumatic signal
(Electric motor valve option available)
  • Can be powered by an external air source for zero-emission operation
  • Easily convertible between pressure-to-open and pressure-to-close
  • Open-yolk design with visual position indicator for easy monitoring and early packing wear detection
Digital Pressure Sensor

Our intelligent digital pressure transmitter provides precise, real-time pressure measurement and control. Designed to monitor casing, tubing, and flowline pressure, it combines a fully electronic structure with an oil-filled sensor and high-precision amplifier for stable, reliable data output.

Product Highlights

  • Integrated pressure measurement, display, and control
  • Dual relay outputs for system regulation
  • Easy setup, calibration, and operation
  • Safe, stable, and reliable for harsh environments
Conventional Plungers

Installed inside the tubing, conventional plungers act as free-moving pistons that create a seal between the gas and the fluid column. When seated on the bumper spring, they halt flow to enable efficient liquid unloading.

Key Features

  • Available in multiple designs, sizes, materials, and temperature ratings
  • Standard API fish-neck design for easy retrieval
Sizes
2-3/8", 2-7/8", 3-1/2", and 4"
  • Corrosion-resistant options available for sour service

Plunger Types

Solid (Spiral) Plunger

For wells with low to moderate gas volumes. Simple, efficient liquid removal.

Padded Plunger

Provides a tighter seal to minimize liquid fallback, improving lift efficiency.

Continuous Flow (Bypass) Plunger

Designed for high-velocity gas wells or applications requiring minimal shut-in time. • Ideal gas velocity: 10+ ft/sec • Fall speed: up to 360 ft/min

Brush Plunger

Best for wells producing solids like sand, salt, or coal fines.

Intelligent Plungers
  • Smart Tools for Smarter Wells

Equipped with built-in sensors, intelligent plungers collect real-time data on temperature, pressure, and acceleration. This data helps operators monitor performance, calculate liquid column height, and optimize lift cycles.

Key Features

  • Integrated temperature, pressure, and speed sensing
  • Available in various designs, sizes, and materials
  • Standard API fish-neck compatibility
Sizes

Hold-Down Tools

Hold-down tools temporarily secure the plunger at the bottom of the tubing during the shut-in cycle, ensuring proper positioning for the next lift. Each includes a spring bumper and stop for dependable operation.

Key Features

  • Available in tubing stop and collar stop designs
  • Standard API fish-neck interface
Sizes
2-3/8", 2-7/8", 3-1/2", and 4"
  • Corrosion-resistant versions for sour applications

Tool Options

  • Tubing Stop
  • Accurate placement within the tubing string
  • Ideal when no seating nipple is available at target depth
